In a nutshell
I have spent my career exploring what helps people think better, feel better, and do better. As a clinician, researcher, and educator, I have studied the science of change—how people get stuck, and how they create momentum again.
I have taught courses, written books, trained professionals, and developed evidence-based approaches that help people turn insight into action. And I continue to learn something new from every client I meet.
My goal is to share what works—so you can take charge of your direction, follow through on your goals, and build the life you want with confidence and clarity.
My background
I am a neuropsychologist who has served as a clinician, researcher, educator, supervisor, and trainer. I work with individuals, groups, and organizations both locally and internationally.
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, State University of New York, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.
After my fellowship, I served as a research professor and director of training at the Brain Injury Research Center at Mount Sinai. I have held faculty appointments at Mount Sinai, St. John’s University in New York, and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. I am board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
I maintain a private practice where I work with individuals in both clinical and coaching capacities, meeting exclusively online. I also partner with organizations to deliver training, consultation, and workshops—virtually or in person when invited.
My background is in brain training and cognitive rehabilitation—developing and delivering interventions that strengthen the mental skills involved in daily living. I contributed to the development of the Executive Plus program, a set of interventions designed to enhance executive functions in people with traumatic brain injuries. I also co-created EmReg™, an intervention that helps people improve emotion regulation—the ability to recognize, understand, and influence their own emotions.
Today, I apply these same evidence-based principles to help people overcome barriers to growth and performance—whether those barriers stem from injury, stress, or everyday life demands. My approach integrates neuroscience, psychology, and practical strategy to help people think better, feel better, and do better in their work, relationships, and personal pursuits.
I am the author of Brainblocks: Overcoming the 7 Hidden Barriers to Success (Penguin Random House, 2015), a book that translates research into practical tools for improving focus, confidence, and follow-through. I continue to write, speak, and teach on topics related to emotion regulation, executive functioning, and goal achievement—helping people understand how their brains work so they can get out of their own way.
